I love that she is a doctor who does not look at her patients and prescribe them pills. We need more of those doctor's across the pond. My DH went to the doctor for his back. The doctor wouldn't even look at his back. He just wanted to give him meds. DH & I won't take meds unless we have too. To say the least my husband did not walk out with medication. He walked out disgusted and still in pain. He did get the proper exercises, finally and is much better. I do think he will need to have his back realigned at one point. He is in construction so he keeps wearing his back down.

I play video games. I am a tourney player. I had this happen to my shoulder too. Gamer's notoriously just have the craziest posture while gaming. I have a crooked spine so I have to watch things like this very carefully. I also do these same exercises especially the floor one. It does really help.

I agree I do think there should be wheelchair training. I have seen and helped so many people with terrible falls because of improper use of their wheelchairs. It is especially horrible during holiday times when there are crowds and it is hard for those in a wheelchair to navigate and then something happens and in a panic they over compensate. I hate seeing people get hurt. I have loved ones that have worse problems now with mobility because of long term improper use of their wheelchairs. It is more heartbreaking because they thought they were doing everything right. They have worn down their joints or torn muscles that never healed correctly, etc... Yes, I wish the medical community would train. Wheelchairs are supposed to give independence not take it away in the long term. This is one of my soapbox issues too. I too have been experiencing neck and back pain for some time and can equate to the reasons you give for it.
Thankfully I got it put right (£315 later) with 3 visits to a fab osteopath but I notice it coming back when I do any cleaning around the house. Will now add your exercises to my neck ones.
Happy WOYWW - Hugs, Neet 1 xxNeethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13279125547309537517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6708807491363992142.post-9815099586889549232016-08-04T19:48:18.695+01:002016-08-04T19:48:18.695+01:00Wow! I ex...Good thing you kept that appointment, Shoshi! I expect I have something very similar as I periodically get pain in my shoulders due to overuse of the computer mouse and keyboard. I've noticed in photographs of me my head is also further ahead of my body, just like you described. I'll try that shoulder exercise and standing flush to the wall. I've always had a bad posture - I think it's because when I was a child, I was always much taller than my friends and I was trying to make myself look smaller by curving my back. What a silly thing to do! Now I always try to remind myself to stand up tall, head held high, back straight, shoulders pulled back, but old habits die hard. Hope the exercises will make a difference for you!
