WOYWW 114

Ooops! It had gone midnight before I remembered it was Wednesday today! Still, I don’t suppose I’m the first person to be a day late…

After a bad week health-wise, I haven’t been in my ARTHaven at all until today, so not much progress has been made on my projects. This is the state of my table tonight:

WOYWW 114 11-8-11

On the left you can see the frame, temporarily assembled, and on the right, a series of hibiscus flowers in the process of being constructed. These were cut on the Cricut using heavy watercolour paper and then coloured with DIY glimmer mist made from Tim Holtz Distress Inks re-inkers in Chipped Sapphire and Forest Moss mixed with water with some Perfect Pearls added. The edges were first coloured with a little archival black ink, and then the detail added with a fine waterproof black marker. At this stage they are waiting to be hand-embossed and assembled.

At the back of my table you can see some UTEE pots. I’ve got some silicone mould compound and some charms and am hoping to make some embellishments for my ATCs.

Sorry to be late, folks! Hope you all had a good WOYWW!

  2. Well girlfriend, if you're unwell, I think it's amazing that you managed or bothered! For a split second I thought your flame was levitating - the patience for those beautiful hibiscus is impressive..but they'll look gorgeous. Hope you start to have some good days very soon.

  6. Sorry to hear health has not been up to par (I am in the same boat and it does get in the way of crafting at times). However, you have some exciting things going on on your desk - look forward to seeing their progress. Take it easy.

  7. Thanks for the glimpse. love the Hibiscus flowers in the above post.

PS you might like to spray your craft mat with a mix of Winsor & Newton iridescent medium mixed with some water on your craft mat that was smeared with Distress pads. Gives a beautiful shimmer all at the same time.

    Have a great day.

  8. great looking project. Thanks for the tutorial on making the flowers in the first post I read. Sorry the health has been playing up. Being a victim...I consider it that!...of CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia I empathize with you on the foggy brain and pain issues. It can make or break my day/week. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for sharing. Vickie
