Items for Village Art Exhibition

This weekend our local church is holding an art exhibition and sale as part of a series of events for harvest festival. I have been working very hard over the past few weeks, to produce some items to display, and hopefully I will make some sales too.

Here are some pictures of everything I’ve made for the exhibition, with the exception of the butterfly mirror for which there was no room.

My flower paintings – six small ones with crackle-effect painted frames, and three mirrors.

Mixed media mirrors: the textured one with acrylic paints, and the butterflies with glass bead gel medium.

Finally, the steampunk mirrors: the steampunk clocks, and the embossed metal, both of which have my faux rust effect.

There are full details of all of these projects here on my blog, in most of my recent posts.

The man who is organising the exhibition called round to collect my items yesterday, and was very pleased with them. I am also entering the two mixed media frames I made this year – the silver wedding one and the present for our nephew’s wedding (we still haven’t had the opportunity to give it to them) – listed as strictly Not for Sale!! – someone in the village was keen that I should show those as another example of my creativity! Not something that would have occurred to me…

The items will all be on show from today (Friday) through to Sunday evening. I am hoping to visit on Saturday evening when the village is having a hog roast. There is an afternoon concert on Saturday but unfortunately my hubby and I can’t attend that as we have to be in Exeter. The harvest supper is this evening but I cannot attend everything if I am going to survive the weekend – my energy levels simply won’t sustain the level of activity! On Sunday there will be a special Songs of Praise service and I am hoping to get to that.

I shall be posting some photos of the exhibition and activities in a day or two.

  2. All your work is beautiful. I hope everyone appreciates it and you make some good sales. I especially love the little boxes and the cream, poppy mirror.
Have a good sing on Sunday. I'd love to join you, but Spain is a tad too far to travel from.
Hope the whole weekend is a great success.
