Here is my workdesk for today. Yesterday was the first time I’d been near it to do anything creative for a while, because the aftermath of my 2nd chemo treatment have been horrendous and I’ve been feeling pooped for nearly 3 weeks! Just starting to feel a bit better in time for the next one, which I hope isn’t going to pole-axe me quite as badly. I go in on Thursday for bloods to be taken, and for my appointment with the oncologist, when I shall tell her how awful it’s been this time. She may want to adjust the dose a bit.
Anyway, to my desk!
Centre stage is the masterboard I made yesterday. Dumped on top of it, to the right, are the template pieces I made for the little boxes to contain my lavender sachets a few weeks back, and the template I made for an angel’s body. Centre back on the desk: my new Dylusions paints which you can read about on the masterboard post. Also on that post, the angel wings which are in the red-topped container to the left of the picture.
As usual, my desk is a bit of a mess. What you can see doesn’t look too bad, but left and right, out of shot, it’s horrendous! I need to have a good tidy up.
Happy WOYWW everybody, and I hope you have a good week, full of creativity.
Shoshi, best of luck to you on your upcoming appointment. I hope your doctor offers you the alternative solution of smaller doses more frequently - and I hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your appointment tomorrow and your chemo on Friday - I hope it isn't as bad as the last lot, fingers crossed. Thinking of you,

Your master board looks marvelous, and based on your previous post, fun to make. I also saw the wings/halo combo that you will be using for your angels, and can't wait to see how they look when you put them together. May the Lord continue to help you tolerate the chemo treatments and happy WOYWW, my friend! #39
ReplyDeleteShoshi, sorry to hear you've been suffering so much but pleased to see you've managed to do some crafting.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW, have a good weekend

I am so glad you are feeling better and recovering from the last treatment. Hopefully the doctor will listen and adjust the next one. Recovery is hard, and it is so good that as artists and crafters we have that hope and inspiration of our passions to look forward to! I hope you share your angels. I love angels, and have been wanting to make some angel dolls for quite some time...it's on my big ole master makes list. Hugs! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #46

So sorry to hear that the treatment wiped you out, Shoshi :-(. It's a tough thing to go through, all you can do is keep positive, isn't it? Would you like some lavender pillows/sachets for your group? I've got quite a lot of dried lavender from the garden still left and lots of scraps of fabric. But no problem if you don't want them, I'm quite ok with that! If yes, it might be a fortnight before I get any done as I'm off on my hols next week. I'm going to have a crafty day with Wipso and Twiglet whole away, yippee :-)

Hope your next round of treatment won't be quite so awful! Glad you finally made it to your desk - the masterboard looks fab, and I love those wings you showed in the last post! Helen 8
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you get to feeling better. You've been quite the trooper and I admire you for that. Saying a prayer for you. And nice to see you getting crafty! Happy WOWW!

Lovely masterboard. Thank you for sharing how you made it (Yesterday's blog)
ReplyDeleteI hope tomorrow all goes well at your appointment with the oncologist and the 'blood letting'. I'm really sorry you have been so wiped-out, but well, chemo does that....
But you are positive and active where you can and writing and blogging also helps to feel better.
Enjoy the warm weather and have a great week,
Hugs,

Glad you have managed to get to your desk Shoshi. I pray the next round won't be so awful. My craft room aka dining room :-) is a tip and I don't have any excuse. As always you are in my prayers. Anne x #31
ReplyDeleteHope we get to see what you do with the Masterboard, it looks really interesting. I know five machines seems a lot but one is an embroidery machine an that's all it does. I have lent one out recently to a family member. Because I was teaching Textiles I also found it more reliable and convenient to have different machines set ready for different jobs such as free machining so that's why I have so many. Have a great week and happy woyww, Angela xXx 27
ReplyDeleteYour masterboard looks amazing, can't wait to see the finished product. Hope your next rounds of treatment aren't so horrible. Vikki #57
ReplyDeleteHi Shoshi, we're all thinking of you and hope you are over the worst of it. So glad you got some time at your desk...I checked out your masterboard and funny thing I just recently found I could transfer the ink from the baby wipes I used to clean up my stamps and mixing palettes and did the same - swiped them over cardstock. Hang in there, hugs RobynO#28
