WOYWW 213

Well, surprise surprise, here’s Shoshi once again. Who’s Shoshi, you might well ask – those of you on the regular WOYWW hop whom I have seriously neglected over the past few months! I hope you haven’t all forgotten me!

WOYWW stands for “What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday” (you can find out all about it by clicking on the WOYWW logo in my sidebar). However, in my case, at the moment I think it should be WIYWW, standing for WHERE Is Your Workdesk Wednesday.

Is it here?

62 Boxes for Move 2, Mar 13

No, I don’t think so. This is part of my old room, with boxes packed up ready for our move.

Is it here?

02 ARTHaven Boxes being Brought Over

Well, not quite, but we’re getting closer! This is the spare bedroom in our new house, and each time we go over, we are taking more and more of my art boxes, so that I can get set up ahead of the main move. Andy, our builder, and his team are making good progress on my new ARTHaven.

Is it here?

03 ARTHaven Units Made Up

No, but you’re getting even warmer! Actually, we are still in the spare bedroom. These are the B&Q kitchen units I am having in my new ARTHaven, assembled and ready for installation. They will go round the room with a continuous work surface on top, not yet made, so in answer to the question….

IT ISN’T ANYWHERE! – Yet!!

Eventually, it will be in here:

05 The Laminate Flooring Laid

This is a new laminate flooring which has just gone down.

For full details on my new ARTHaven, please see recent posts in my blog, and keep watching – there should be rapid progress from now on! Hopefully I shall soon be back in full creative mode again.

However… in case you haven’t been keeping up with my blog of late, I need to tell you about a small black cloud on my horizon at the moment. Just after my 60th birthday at the end of last month, I received one of those home bowel cancer screening kits, and it’s shown an abnormal result. I have an appointment on Thursday morning at the hospital to set up a colonoscopy which will most likely happen sometime next week. I am trying to hang onto the statistic given in the leaflet they sent me, that states that only 1 in 10 people with an abnormal result on the screen actually have cancer. If it does turn out to be cancer, it really couldn’t have come at a worse moment as I simply don’t have the time to be out of action at this most exciting time in our lives as we prepare to move into our beautiful new home, and all the excitement of having the builders in and watching the transformation. For those of you in the WOYWW community who pray (and I know there are a fair number of you who do), I should so appreciate your prayers at this time.

Meantime, happy WOYWW, everybody! It’s nice to be back.

  1. Hi Shoshi welcome back. I tend not to do the WOYWW thing much now as my desk is always so tidy which everyone comments on - I just like to put everything away after I finish stuff and cannot function in chaos like some can.

My hubby has been down the colonoscopy track in recent times as his result also came back as abnormal...turns out he had massive polyps which were removed in two procedures a couple months apart. Apparently he had a minimum count of malignancy but a malignancy all the same so it was a good thing he went ahead with the ops.

From what we've heard some people have had up to 30cm of their bowel removed because of the cancer without any ill effect so the odds are all will be fine for you.
    Good luck with it kiddo.
    Cheers,
    Elaine

  12. And pray I will! Glad to hear there is such nice progress on your new place. Wonderful to be able to design everything from scratch to suit you. Mine is an ever growing pile of storage contraptions which have almost blotted the window out in front of my desk, thankfully there is a huge sliding door to my left so I have not quite made it into a cave...#49

  15. Your new 'to be' room looks fantastic, wish I could start again.

Just wanted to comment about your test, sure all will be good. My Mum is 75, I think it was 5 years back she did the test and got called for further investigations, there was no probs at all, we were all worried too. Wish you all the best, but sure you will be good, and all systems go in your new home.

    take care

  16. Hi Sweetie
you need to stay very positive and focus on all those good things going on in your life right now. A friend of mine did the test and got called back as something had shown up but it turned out to nothing nasty.
Your new craft room and new home are going to give you so many lovely highs so go with the flow and hang on to them
Happy WOYWW enjoy the rest of your week

  17. Hi Shoshi!! Congrats on your new home and what will be your wonderful new ARThaven! Wow!

I pray and will keep you in my prayers. If it helps, I had a colonoscopy and the doctor was sure he would find something. All he could find was diverticulitis.

Enjoy your new home and keep excited! God Bless, Rasz #125

  19. Hi Shoshi,
I realise I am 6 days late in commenting - been away clearing Dad's house.
It's all coming together for the new home - great!!!!!
May our Father, who loves you with an everlasting love, hold you these next few weeks - remember He tells you, "I know the plans I have for you - plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future" God bless you both as you await tests and results.
We are back in Devon in September/October - maybe we can meet up again.
    Margaret - and John!!
