I'm delighted to be able to tell you that Shoshi's surgery finally went ahead!!!
I had a very brief phone call from her husband just now saying that she had just come out of surgery.
Then this email:
"Sue through op. tired and sore. We had a drama today as we got in and it was again cancelled this morning due to no High Dependancy Bed, but there was no phone call before we set off half an hour before set time..So we went and were told, poor Sue burst into sobs and was desperate. The wonderful team then pulled out all stops and made a decision to go ahead, the anaesthetic will be very different and she may have some more pain but she bravely accepted their offer and went ahead. We will get through. she sends her love to you and all bloggers."
I sent all of our love and will print out any comments so Shoshi can read them in hospital while she's waiting to feel better enough to have her laptop.
I'm Soooooooo pleased to have finally been able to write this post!!!!
So pleased it finally went ahead! Now is the time to just rest and put yourself in God's hands and the hands of the team caring for you. Praying that you know the peace of God at all times and that hubby feels he is being taken care of too. Looking forward to hearing about your progress. xx
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they were going to cancel again. It must have been devastating.. I'm so glad it went ahead and it's so brave of you to go ahead with the different anesthetic. Love and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh thank goodness it happened - finally!! Poor Shoshi having to hear again that it had been cancelled - too cruel. If/when you read this Shoshi I wish you a speedy recovery from the operation. I will continue to pray for you and DH. Hope you will not be in too much pain and discomfort. God Bless Anne x
ReplyDeleteShoshi, praying that the Lord will ease your pain and your recovery will amaze the whole medical team.
ReplyDeleteBless you

I can't believe it!! Again! Good on you Shoshi that you went ahead even though it meant a different anesthetic. I do hope the pain is not too bad. When you wake up you will officially be a 'gutless bag lady'. I know you won't be reading this until further down the line and I don't really want to make you laugh as it will hurt that tummy of yours. But needless to say we are thinking of you and praying for you that no complications will occur, and that you will soon be sitting up and taking charge!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased to hear surgery went ahead. Sending all my love and prayers Shoshi, and I can't wait to see you back in your haven creating beautiful things x
ReplyDeleteAt last, it's been such a long wait. Please pass on best wishes from all of Shoshi's readers. Get well soon sweetie. Luv and Blessings

Sending you healing thoughts! Hope you will get good meds to help you through. Who knows, if the meds are really good you may get some especially creative thoughts that you can act on when you are better! (make sure somebody writes those creative thoughts down for you!)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you finally had the surgery Shoshi. At last you can begin to move forward again.
ReplyDeleteSending love and hugs to you and your hubby.

Hi Shoshi, so glad it went ahead, how devastated you must have been to be cancelled again! I know that's the nature of HDU and ICU beds, they can be available one second, gone the next, but that's no comfort or consolation at the time. Very brave of you to go for the option given you, I can understand that now you just wanted it done, I would not have been able to take another wait either. Sending you and Nicholas healing and loving hugs from us both, xxxxxx
